The Process of Getting Your New Puppy

Every puppy from The Golden Life is produced from genetically health tested and OFA certified parents to ensure that families are gaining a healthy puppy they can enjoy for several years. From the moment we help our mother dogs give birth, our puppies are handled with love and care until they join their new families. We continue to support our families and puppies throughout the dog’s life. We have an application process to ensure that our puppies go to the best homes. All puppies will receive their first set of vaccines and a wellness exam by our Vet at 6 weeks of age. We also deworm them biweekly starting at 2 weeks old. We have a facebook group for every litter in which we post weekly “pupdates” to inform families about milestones the litter has reached, as well as photos and videos. We begin letting our puppies leave for their new homes at 7.5 weeks of age. Our puppies will go home with a folder that includes their medical records, AKC registration forms, and information about our recommended NuVet supplements. They also go home with a bag that includes a small package of their puppy food (Purina Pro Plan Large Breed Puppy Food), a toy & blanket with the litter’s scent, a shampoo sample, and other goodies. Our puppies come with 30 days of Trupanion insurance coverage and a 1-year health guarantee.

Our puppies are usually reserved within a week or less of their birth, so joining our waitlist is the best way to start your journey of getting a puppy. We require an application and waitlist fee of $25 to join our waitlist. We accept the waitlist fee through Zelle AFTER your application had been approved. The waitlist fee does go toward the total cost of the puppy, but it is non-refundable if you don’t go through with purchasing a puppy. From the moment you join our waitlist, we will periodically send you updates about breedings, pregnancies, birth announcements, etc. Your application and fee expires one year after submission.

Once a litter of your preference has been born, we will let you know how many puppies are available of each gender. We will also inform you of which “pick” number you have. Pick numbers will align with your number on our waitlist. You will then have 6 hours to send your non-refundable deposit of $275 to reserve your spot for a puppy. Puppies will be chosen on the weekend after they turn 7 weeks old.

After 7 weeks of watching the litter grow through “pupdates” in the facebook group, you will be able to choose your puppy! Puppies will be chosen on the weekend after they turn 7 weeks old. We will create appointments so that picks are made in order of our waitlist numbers. You may attend your appointment and choose your puppy in person, or you can choose your puppy virtually through photos, videos, facetime, etc.

If you attend your pick-out appointment in person, you can leave with your puppy! We can also work with other pick-up dates. We can also deliver your puppy for $1 per mile driven, or fly with your puppy in cabin for $500 plus air fare. If your puppy needs to stay over a week longer than 7.5 weeks old, we charge a daily $25 boarding fee beginning when the puppy turns 2 months old. The remaining puppy balance of $1700 is due at pickup/delivery. You will also bring your completed purchase agreement that includes our 1-year health guarantee.
