We perform health testing on all of our breeding dogs for hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia, and genetic conditions.
Our puppies are raised in our home and receive daily socialization with people, cats and other dogs- both big and small.
Our puppies are fed a high-quality, vet-recommended puppy food. Once puppies are old enough for solid foods, they eat Purina Pro Plan Large Breed Puppy- Chicken and Rice Formula.
Our puppies come with limited AKC, meaning their future offspring would be ineligible for AKC. We also state in our contract that puppies sold with limited registration must not be bred. We do offer Full AKC (breeding rights) to approved families for a premium cost. Our puppies come from lines of high-quality, health-tested Golden Retrievers which makes them desirable breeding prospects.
Our Facebook page (The Golden Life Retrievers) has several albums of each dog, as well as previous litters, in our Photos section. We also post updates most frequently there. We are also very responsive to Facebook messages, so feel free to reach out!
Yes, we do! We can meet with/deliver your puppy for $1 per mile driven. We can also fly your puppy in cabin- prices vary for that option. We do not ship our puppies or allow 3rd parties to transport.
The first step to reserving a puppy is by sending an application. After your application is approved, we will accept the waitlist fee to secure your spot on the list. The application and fee expires after 1 year of submission. After the litter is born, we will let you know if there are enough puppies for your spot on the list. If there are, we will accept the non-refundable deposit of $275 to reserve your spot for a puppy from the litter. We accept the waitlist fee and deposit through Zelle. The remaining amount is due in cash when collecting your puppy.
Puppy pick-out day takes place the weekend after the puppies reach 7 weeks of age. Puppy selection order aligns with the order of families on the waitlist. We will create an appointment for each family to ensure picks are made in the correct order. You may choose your puppy in person, or virtually during your appointment. Puppies can be taken home anytime after!
The only time we allow visitors is during pickout/take home day. We love to personally meet our puppy families, but please understand that our business is our home. Therefore, we do not allow visitors any other time for the healthy and safety of our animals, as well as our family.
Puppy Pick-Out/Take-Home day takes place during the weekend after puppies reach 7 weeks of age. Puppies can be taken home on or any after that date. We can keep your puppy longer, however, a boarding fee of $25 per day takes affect on the day your puppy turns 2 months old.
All puppies will come home with medical records (they’ll receive age-appropriate deworming and 1st round of vaccines at 6 weeks old), AKC registration papers, 30 days of Trupanion pet insurance coverage, a blanket & toy with the litter’s scent, shampoo samples, NuVet vitamin samples, and a small bag of their puppy food. We also offer a 1 year health guarantee.
